Brandon Marshall is staying in New York and playing in the same stadium, but will be on a different team. The free agent wide receiver is switching locker-rooms, he leaves the Jets after two seasons and joins the Giants by signing a two year deal worth $12 million.
The 32 year old wide receiver was due to make $7.5 million with the Jets this year but Gang Green cut him last week.
The Giants were desperate to find another playmaker in the passing attack to assist Eli Manning in the Red-Zone and alleviate some of the pressure on Odell Beckham Jr.
From a Fantasy Football perspective, this is a great move for Marshall who may not be that Number 1 WR for your team like he has been throughout his career, but he can certainly be a Number 2 especially in a PPR league. Keep in mind this is a playmaker who is just two years removed from a 109 catch, 1,502, and 14 TD season (with Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing him the ball). The Giants are coming off an 11 win season, which is perhaps the closest thing to a contender Marshall has ever played for in his 11 year career.
