The Pittsburgh Steelers signed Antonio Brown to a long-term contract, making him the highest paid wide receiver in the NFL.
According to Adam Schefter, Brown's new contract is worth $68 million over four years, an annual salary of $17 million. The 27 year old wide receiver is now signed through 2021.
Brown's new contract is about $2 million more on a per year basis than AJ Green who was previously the highest paid wide receiver making $15 million per year. Other wide receivers in that salary range include Dez Bryant, Julio Jones, and Demaryius Thomas all of which make about $14 million per year.
Brown's stats are hands down the best in the NFL over the last few seasons. He was 2nd in catches, 2nd in TDs, and 6th in receiving yards in 2016. In 2015 he was 1st in receptions, 2nd in yards, and in the Top 10 for TDs. Brown led the league in both yards and catches in 2014 and finished tied for 2nd in TDs...
Pretty clear the best receiver in the NFL now has the salary to match his production.
