College football is the greatest game and most majestic spectacle in the history of the sports world. And the Battle at Bristol between Virginia Tech and Tennessee Saturday night was the biggest football game in history, with more than 150,000 people in attendance at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The game kicked off with an epic national anthem, an all-time Top Five-er if you ask me, if only because of the majesty of it all. Jennifer Nettles is a major smoke show, too. If you want to introduce a foreigner to the indulgent spectacle of American culture, bring them to a big-time college football game. 'Merica, baby!

Little bit of trivia: the biggest previous crowd in football history was the estimated 120,000+ who packed Soldier Field in Chicago to watch Notre Dame play USC in 1927.
