The Denver Broncos enter the new season with a new Head Coach, a new Offensive Coordinator and a new Defensive Coordinator, after one season removed from winning the Super Bowl.

If you remember correctly they won the Super Bowl with a dominating defense.  They went through last season with a dominating defense, and with Trevor Sieman and Paxton Lynch in their quarterback arsenal, they are seemingly once again going to rely on a dominating defense to get through the season.

Going into free agency and the draft new offensive coordinator Mike McCoy has stated that he "is comfortable" with both Sieman and Lynch.  McCoy has clearly stated, "We have two talented players, and we're going to let them come in and compete and go from there."

Can this really be the path to the Super Bowl for the Broncos?

This year the Super Bowl witnessed losing quarterback Matt Ryan putting up 284 yards with two touchdowns.  In the season he passed for 4944 yards with 38 touchdowns and seven interceptions, winning the league MVP title along the way.

Tom Brady the Super Bowl winning quarterback passed for 466 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in the Super Bowl.  For the season he amassed 3554 yards with 28 touchdowns and two interceptions.

The Broncos will enter off-season with starting quarterback Siemian competing for starting position.  For the regular season he threw 486 times completing 289 passes.  He finished with 3401 yards, with 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.   Through his first four games he passed for 824 yards and six touchdowns and three interceptions.  Then he suffered a shoulder injury to his non-throwing shoulder.  He missed two games ( one due to left foot sprain) and the season took a turn for the worse.

Now he will be coming out of shoulder surgery and into a quarterback battle with Lynch who played in two games last season.  In those two games he passed for 497 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

So the Broncos Super Bowl 52 hopes rest on the arms of these two?

There are the rumors about a Tony Romo appearance in the Broncos orange.  But now they are only rumors.

There will be free agent quarterbacks on the market.  According to WalterFootball.com here are the rankings of the possible free agents:

1. Kirk Cousins

2. Brian Hoyer

3. Mike Glennon

4. Ryan Fitzpatrick

5. Geno Smith

6. Nick Foles

7. Matt Barkley

8. Ryan Mallett

9. Case Keenum

10. Christian Ponder

Are any of these better than what the Broncos currently have?

The top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL draft according to Fox Sports:

1. Mitch Trubisky, North Carolina

2. DeShone Kizer, Notre Dame

3. Deshaun Watson, Clemson

4. Nathan Peterman, Pitt

5. Brad Kaaya, Miami

6. Jarod Evans, Virginia Tech

7. Davis Webb, Cal

8. Patrick Mahomes, Texas Tech

9. C.J. Beathard, Iowa

10.Brady Gustafson, Montana

It is hard to believe they will spend another draft choice on a rookie quarterback, when there are other positions they can acquire with their 10 draft picks.

So now that the high powered Super Bowl 51 is in the books, will it convince the Broncos to amp up their offense?  Or will they stay the course and rely on a defense with a new defensive coordinator to make it to Minneapolis?

Keep in mind, after being on the field for 93 offensive plays, the Atlanta Falcons defense was gassed.  There is only so much you can do when your offense drops the ball.

It's going to be a great off-season.  Stay with me and stay informed.
