The 32 men nominated all represent a charity of their choice and all 32 charities will be winners in the end. The award winner receives $1 million with $500,000 going to the charity of his choice and the other $500,000 will be spread across all the NFL markets to support the expansion of 'Character Playbook.' The two other finalists who don't take home the award also each get $250,000 to split between their charities and the expansion of the Character Playbook. The other 29 nominees all receive $100,000 to split with their charities and the expansion of the Character Playbook. That's almost $6 million that the NFL will be spreading around to help 32 different charities in a variety of causes from pediatric cancer to literacy programs to helping our troops.

The winner of the 'Walter Payton Man of the Year' award will be announced on February 4th, 2017 - the day before the Super Bowl - in a ceremony in Houston during the NFL Honors. No matter who wins the award, every player nominated is a winner and so are the 32 charities that will be represented. Football is amazing, but it's even better when these players go out and do great things to make the world a better place. Thank you, congratulations, and good luck to all the nominees in 2016!
