After Cam Newton spoke at his post-game press conference on Sunday after his Panthers beat the visiting Arizona Cardinals, all eyes shifted to commissioner Roger Goodell. Newton brought up some good points and said he wanted to speak with Goodell about the hits he's been taking. Apparently Goodell was listening and a meeting between the commissioner and reigning NFL MVP will be taking place.

It wasn't only Newton who got the ear of commissioner Goodell. Panthers head coach Ron Rivera also contacted Goodell personally to voice his concerns over the hits his quarterback has been taking.

There isn't a specific date for their meeting yet, but this is a step in the right direction for Newton and the NFL as a whole if some of these issues begin to get ironed out betweens he commissioner and the Panthers QB.
