Keeping up with tradition, the NFL's reigning Super Bowl Champions visited the White House and met with the President. 

For the New England Patriots it was their fifth trip to the White House since 2000 but for President Donald Trump it was his first time hosting a major sports team. 

Trump received a Patriots jersey from owner Robert Kraft with the Number 45 and the name Trump on the back, symbolizing Trump as America's 45th President. 

The President had high praise for the Super Bowl Champs, stating "With your backs against the wall, and the pundits — good old pundits, boy, they’re wrong a lot, aren’t they? — saying you couldn’t do it, the game was over, you pulled off the greatest Super Bowl comeback of all time.”

34 players were in attendance but most notably Tom Brady was not. Brady along with nearly two dozen of his teammates did not make the trip.
