The Patriots first draft selection will be at number 72 over-all, in this years draft, having traded their 1st & 2nd picks for players.
3d round #72- DT Dalvin Tomlinson, With DT Alan Branch 33 starting his 11th season, Bill Belichick will be looking toward the future at that position.
3d round #96- S Delano Hill, With S Patrick Chung 30, starting his 9th NFL season, the Patriots will be looking at the future at his position as well.
4th round #132 - OT Will Holden, Left Tackle Nate Solder is in the last year of his contract, so again with the future in mind, it's time to bring in a developmental prospect.
5th round # 163 - LB Eric Wilson, The Patriots may need some special teams help, and Wilson adds speed to the LB group.
5th round #183 - RB Dalton Crossan, Coming out of a smaller program (New Hampshire) Crossan was an athletic guy not only as a RB but Slot receiver, and Kick returner. Crossan compares to Stanford RB Christian McCaffery.
6th round #200 - QB Alex Torgerson, QB Jimmy Garoppolo's in the last year of his contract, and the Patriots will be looking at getting a prospect into their system.
7th round #239 - DE Evan Schwon, I have about ten prospects who could be selected here, but Schwon has nice size 6'5" 265 lbs. and good speed 4.68 40 yd. for the position.
This is a good group of prospects, who likely will be on the draft board when the Patriots select. This group helps to fill future needs for the Patriots should they develop in their system.
